The Swisher ZT2760B zero turn lawn mower is a very large machine. And this is exactly why it has such a big engine too. The engine powering it is a Briggs and Stratton ELS, 2 cylinder model. This 4 stroke engine has a power output of 27 hp. The engine gets fuel from a tank that can hold up to 15.1 liters (4 US gallons) of gasoline. As this is a zero turn lawnmower, there is no steering wheel. Instead all control of the machine rests on the rear wheels of the ZT 2760 B that are controlled by the 2 lap bars in front of the driver. Power from the engine reaches the wheels after first being channeled through a dual hydrostatic transmission that means the amount of power each rear wheel receives is independent of the other, which is what allows it to execute zero radius turns.

swisher ZT2760BThe mower deck on the Swisher ZT2760B is very big at 60 inches wide. Inside the welded steel mower deck are 3 mulching blades which quickly and efficiently shred the grass clippings into a fast decomposing mulch. The mower deck can be quickly and easily raised and lowered from a high of 5 inches above your lawn to a low of 1.5 inches above your lawn in 0.5 inch increments. The deck is raised and lowered by a spring assisted hand lever. The ZT 2760 B is belt driven and engaged by the operator using an electric PTO. You will find that the Swisher ZT2866 zero turn mower is similar to this one, except that it’s a good bit bigger.

The Swisher ZT2760B zero turn lawn mower has large rear wheels which measure 20×9.5-8 (20 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter) as these carry most of the load as well as provide the traction for driving the machine forwards. The front wheels merely keep the mower deck elevated and are consequently much smaller, measuring 4.1×3.5-5.5 (10 inch diameter, 3.5 inch width, 5.5 inch rim diameter).
