John Deere Gator TS

The John Deere Gator TS 4×2 utility vehicle is a popular model from the team at JD. It gets it’s power from a 4 stroke Kawasaki engine that provides the machine with 11.1 hp. This single cylinder engine has a displacement of 0.351 liters and is powered by gasoline. Don’t be fooled by the ‘golf cart’ appearance of the JD Gator TS, this is a powerful machine capable of taking loads of up to 227 kg (500 lbs) in the back cargo box and can haul up to 408 kg (900 lbs) safely behind it. The speed of the JD TS is controlled by a set of disc brakes located in the back wheels.

Thanks to the well designed engine, the John Deere Gator TS can hit a top speed of 32 kmh (20 mph) when traveling over flat, open terrain. It is fairly comfortable operating the JD TS Gator for long periods thanks to the well designed driver and operator seats that feature high backs which offer great lumbar support. You will also notice a host other great extras on this 4×2 utility vehicle. These include things like a 12 volt outlet for charging devices like a phone or for powering a radio while operating it. Handily there is a fuel gauge too so that you can check when you need to top up the fuel tank.

If you like the John Deere Gator TS but feel that it’s underpowered somewhat, you will be glad that JD offer a range of far more powerful utility vehicles such as the John Deere Gator XUV 825i and the John Deere Gator XUV 855D utility vehicles. They also produce a battery powered one too, the John Deere Gator TE. One Review of the “John Deere Gator TS”

  1. Ron Hudson says:

This vehicle has gone everywhere I’ve needed it to go. I live in rural Missouri in the Ozarks, and the hills can be very steep. I have yet to not make a climb. The vehicle is very stable, and the ability to lock the rear wheels virtually eliminates the need for 4 wheel drive where I live. I would recommend this vehicle but would caution anyone that the exhause on the ts 4×2 model is very loud. Hopefully they will relocate the exhaust on future models to help reduce noise levels.

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
Pros: Extremely versatile, goes anywhere you drive it, the 4×2 has had no problems on any hill or in any whet weather. Hauls enough weight to preform a variety of household or farm chores. Very dependable and durable.
Cons: The TS 4×2 has a Kawasaki engine that is VERY noisy. While driving, talking to a passenger is extremely difficult. The muffler is located right behind the driver instead of the rear of the vehicle. If it wasn’t for the noise, I’d have no problems with this vehicle.
