The Toro LX426 garden tractor lawn mower is incredibly similar to many of the other tractor lawnmowers in the Toro LX series that includes the Toro LX423 and the Toro LX425 mowers as well as the Toro LX427. This versatile tractor gets it’s power from a single cylinder Intek engine that is designed and built by Briggs and Stratton. The engine uses an air cooling system to prevent the engine from getting too hot. There is a fully pressurized lubrication system on this engine to keep everything working smoothly. This engine also has an oil filter.
The Toro LX426 is fortunately an automatic thanks to it’s continuously variable transmission. It also has cruise control to help make your life easier when cutting long stretches of grass, like on the side of a laneway. The top speed of the LX426 going forwards is 8.8 kph (5.5 mph) while in reverse it has a top speed of 3.7 mph (2.3 mph). The rear wheels through which the power is transferred on this lawnmower measure 20×8 (20 inch diameter, 8 inch width) while the front wheels which are responsible for steering the lawnmower each measure 15×6 (15 inch diameter, 6 inch width).
The mower deck that comes with the Toro LX426 as standard is 42 inches wide (as in the cutting width is 42 inches). This mower deck can be upgraded up to a mower deck with a 50 inch wide cutting width. For dealing with the grass clippings, you have the option of either muclhing them, discharging them out the side and back onto the lawn or collecting them in a rear attached bagger to leave your lawn looking incredibly neat. The deck is adjustable up and down in small increments so that you can always get the cut height that you desire for your lawn.
