Snapper RER12.5/28

The Snapper RER12.5/28 lawnmower is the second smallest ride on lawnmower available from Snapper in the Rear Engine Rider Series. It’s just slightly more powerful than the Snapper RER11.5/28 lawnmower. However, if you are looking for a lawn mower that has more power than the RER 12.5 28, then the Snapper RER13.5/30 or the Snapper RER17.5/33 may be of interest to you. The RER12.528 is powered by a Briggs and Stratton Intek engine that only produces 12.5 hp. This 1 cylinder engine has a choice of different starting mechanisms. You can use the easy electric starting system or if you want to use a bit of muscle, there is also a pull cord recoil system.

This engine powers the 28 inch mower deck on the Snapper RER12.5/28. This mower deck is the same size as the mower deck on the Snapper RER11.5/28. The single blade inside the mower deck can be raised from a low of 1.5 inches above the ground to a high of 4 inches above the ground over 5 different positions. The raising and lowering of the cutting deck is done mechanically. There is a number of choices the operator has for dealing with the grass clippings. Some operators like to simply discharge the grass out the side of the deck. However if there is a lot of grass being discharged, it can look very unsightly as it turns brown and decomposes. If you don’t want this, then you can instead use the ninja mulching system which chops up the clippings very quickly into a nutritious mulch that decomposes rapidly. The last option on the RER125/28 is to just collect the clippings in a bagger.

When you first see the Snapper RER12.5/28 lawnmower, you will immediately notice that it looks almost bare. The reason for this is that the Rear Engine Rider Series is the introductory group of lawnmowers from Snapper whose sole function is to just cut grass. They don’t offer any attachments.
