John Deere Max Z-Trak 777

The gasoline engine on the John Deere Max Z-Trak 777 lawn mower powers the mower deck which is a massive 72 inches wide. This mower deck on the JD 777 houses 3 blades and discharges grass out the side of the deck. The blades in the deck are belt driven. This belt drive system is engaged using an Ogura PTO. The deck is actually from JD’s ‘7 Iron II’ series of decks that are constructed from 7 gauge steel. The steel is then stamped which makes it stronger and more resilient than similar 7 gauge decks made from bolted or welded steel. Even though the cutting width of the deck is 72 inches, it’s total width is a little higher at 86 inches. This is due to the plastic, protective discharge flap on the side of the deck. Each blade housed inside the deck has a diameter of 25 inches.
