John Deere Front Z-Trak F687

The John Deere Front Z-Trak F687 zero turn lawn mower gets it’s power from a 23 hp engine that is fueled with gasoline. The engine is an air cooled model that has a total displacement of 0.674 liters. The engine in the JD F687 has 2 stages for cleaning the air intake. The first stage is a cyclone pre cleaner that gets rid of the larger particles, while the the heavy duty, dry type air filter then stops dust and other small particulate matter from entering into the combustion chambers where it can potentially ruin the combustion process by clogging the engine. The fuel tank that supplies the engine with gasoline can hold up to 25.7 liters (6.8 US gallons). The engine is started by a 12 volt battery.

The John Deere Front Z-Trak F687 zero turn mower uses a dual hydrostatic transmission to control how much power each rear wheel receives. The amount of power each receives is determined by how hard the operator presses or pulls on the lap bars in front of him. The rear wheels which are responsible for driving and controlling the JD F687 Z Trak each measure 20×10-10 (20 inch diameter, 10 inch width, 10 inch rim diameter). The front wheels which really only keep the lawnmower balanced and prevent the mower deck from hitting the ground are much, much smaller, each measuring 13×6.5-6 (13 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter).

The top speed that the John Deere Front ZTrak F 687 lawn mower can reach going forwards is 13.2 kph (8.2 mph), while in reverse it has a top speed of 9.7 kph (6 mph). There is a choice of 3 different sized mower decks that are compatible with the JD F687. The smallest is a deck with a 48 inch cutting width, while the largest has a 60 inch cutting width. The mid sized deck has a cutting width of 54 inches. A fairly similar model to this one is the John Deere Max Z-Trak 777 zero turn mower.
