John Deere 5083E

The John Deere 5083E utility tractor is a step up from the likes of the John Deere 5075E and the John Deere 5075M utility tractors. It is powered by an efficient PowerTech engine that is made in house by JD. This is a 4 cylinder, diesel, turbocharged engine that has very low emissions. The engine in the JD 5083E is liquid cooled and produces 82 hp. The air intake is first filtered through a dry type air filter to prevent dust and other particles from entering into the combustion chamber.

The transmission used on the John Deere 5083E is a PowrReverser transmission that gives the tractor 12 gears for traveling forwards and 12 for reversing also. This transmission allows the tractor to achieve a top speed of 36 kph (22.4 mph). The JD 5083E comes with a cab as standard with built in ROPS (roll over protection system). The cab provides a very nice environment which protects the driver from severe weather outside. The great thing about the cab is that it is isolated from the tractor too, which helps to decrease noise and vibration during operation.

The fuel tank on the John Deere 5083E utility tractor can hold up to 126.8 liters (33.5 US gallons) of diesel which means that you will not need to be constantly filling it up like on a lawn mower. The category 1, iMatch Quick Hitch or category 2, Economy Quick Coupler hitch is capable of accommodating a variety of rear attachments. Meanwhile, there are also a number of front end loaders that are compatible with the JD 5083E. If you are looking for a tractor that is capable of a wide range of tasks on any sized farm, then you will find this one to be very adept (provided you have the right attachments). Reliable strong dealer network built tough

    Year of Manufacture: 8
Pros: Great tractor for the money
Cons: Cab is basic not as friendly as the Deere M
    Attachments: Blade power rake
    Modifications: Tires oversizes

  2. D. Rhoades says:

Nice tractor. My wife enjoys cutting the pastures with it also. It handles large square bales with ease.

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: Great tractor for the money. It was only a few thousand dollars over the 4520 compact utility but can do much more than a 4000 series John Deere. The cab is roomy and quiet. The PTO has an economy mode that allows the engine to run at lower RPM’s but rotates the driveline at the rated speed. AC works great even in 95 degree conditions.
Cons: There is no illuminated icon on the dash that lights up when the tractor is in 4WD. Driver has to “remember” when he puts it in 4WD.
Attachments: imatch, rear blade, rotary cutter, 563 Loader and 85″ high volume heavy duty bucket with reversible blade, large square bale spear, PTO trailer hitch adapter
