Cub Cadet RZT54KW

The Cub Cadet RZT54KW Zero Turn Rider lawnmower is very similar to the Cub Cadet RZT 54 KH lawnmower, except for the fact that it’s powered by a different engine. The RZT 54 KW uses a 24 hp Kawasaki engine to power both it’s 54 inch mower and it’s wheels. Thanks to a ZT 2800 Dual Hydro Gear transmission, you are able to control each wheel independently. This is what gives the lawnmower it’s zero turn radius. The wheelbase of this machine is 1.11 m (43.5 inches) and it measures 1.7 m (67 inches) in length, although with a bagger attached to the back, it’s overall length will increase by a lot.

Built into the Cub Cadet RZT 54 KW lawnmower is a very clever safety mechanism that shuts down the engine the moment the operator leaves his seat, helping to prevent possible injury. The total weight of the machine comes to a reasonable 253 kg (557 lbs). Unfortunately you are not able to attach a snow blower to the RZT 54 KW lawn mower, but there are other attachments that are compatible such as spreaders and a bumper. The lack of attachments make this less versatile than other Cub Cadet tractor lawn mowers.

The top speed of the Cub Cadet RZT54KW Zero Turn Rider lawnmower is 10.5 kph (6.5 mph) which makes it incredibly nippy. The mower deck on this machine is obviously 54 inches in cutting width. It’s total width is about 10 inches higher though (due to the discharge flap at the side). The mower deck comprises of 3 blades and has been built using 12 gauge steel. The fuel tank on the RZT 54 KW can hold up to 11.4 liters (3 US gallons) of gasoline. If you own this lawnmower or have owned one in the past, then please leave a review of it below. Don’t forget to mention any modifications you made to it as well as any problems you had and why you liked/disliked it.

One Review of the “Cub Cadet RZT54KW”

  1. Brian Rasnick says:

Let down. Had a couple cubs in the past. Nothing like this thought. I spent $4K on this and i have had nothing but trouble.

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
    Pros: Easy to use.
    Nice cut
    High amount of safety
Cons: I am on my 2nd mower this year. 1st RZT had a Kohler motor that smoked alot. Returned it for a Kawasaki that has a lifter tick and now a bad right hydro motor.
    Attachments: 3 bag bagger
    Modifications: None
