Cub Cadet RZT54KH

The Cub Cadet RZT54KH Zero Turn Rider lawnmower shares many similarities with the Cub Cadet RZT54KW lawn mower. This is mostly due to the fact that they have the same sized mower deck. However it’s important to note that they have different sized engines made by different brands. The engine powering the RZT 54 KH is a 2 cylinder, Courage motor that is produced by Kohler. This engine pumps out a whopping 26 hp. Power from the engine is then transferred to each rear wheel separately by a Dual Hydro Gear ZT 2800 transmission. Rather than using a steering wheel and gas pedals, 2 lap bars are used to control the speed and direction of the this zero turn radius lawn mower.

The mower deck on the Cub Cadet RZT 54 KH lawnmower cuts to to a width of 54 inches (you could have probably guessed this from the name). The total width of the mowing deck is a little bigger though due to the discharge chute on the side. One of the really cool things about the RZT54KH is that the front axle pivots allowing the mower deck to follow the contours of the area you are cutting. Like the mowing decks on many large Cub Cadet lawnmowers, this one has 3 smaller blades that give a very even cut to the grass as opposed to a single blade, which often leaves some areas of grass higher than others, which is not pleasing to the eye.

The mower deck on the Cub Cadet RZT54KH can be adjusted in 0.5 inch increments from as high as 4 inches above the ground to as little as 1.5 inches from the ground. The deck is not efficiently powered by a shaft drive system like some other large lawnmowers. Instead it uses a belt drive system. A bagger attachment can be add to the back of the RZT 54 KH Zero Turn Rider mower. If you are looking for something smaller, then have a look at the Cub Cadet RZT50KH lawnmower.
