The Cub Cadet RZT42 Zero Turn Rider lawnmower is the smallest zero turn mower from Cub Cadet in their current line up. Even though it’s relatively small when compared to other zero turn mowers, it’s much bigger than the likes of the Cub Cadet LTX1040 riding tractor lawnmower and others from the Series 1000 of mowers. The engine powering the RZT 42 is a 22 hp Courage engine that has beeng designed and built by Kohler, a long time partner of Cub Cadet. This battery started motor transfers power to the wheels through a dual hydro gear EZT transmission that makes the mower an automatic. You control the speed and direction of the machine via 2 lap bars in front of you. These are used both for turning and for speeding up and slowing down. Please remember that there is no steering wheel on this machine.

The mowing deck on the Cub Cadet RZT42 lawnmower has a cutting width of 42 inches and consists of 3 blades. This deck is comparable to ones found on a lot of tractor lawnmowers offered by Cub Cadet. So if you are just looking for a lawnmower, then the RZT 42 may be right for you. However unfortunately the Cub Cadet RZT42 is not compatible with a lot of attachments which means that it’s not as versatile around your garden and yard as a tractor lawnmower from Cub Cadet.

The top speed of the Cub Cadet RZT42 Zero Turn Rider comes to 9.7 kph(6 mph) when traveling forwards and 4.8 kph (3 mph) when it’s reversing. Each of it’s front tires measure in at 11×4-5 (11 inch diameter, 4 inch width, 5 inch rim diameter) while each of it’s rear wheels measures 18×8.5-8 (18 inch diameter, 8.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter).
