Ariens Zoom 50

The Ariens Zoom 50 inch zero turn lawn mower is a step up from smaller models in the series like the Ariens Zoom 34 or the Ariens Zoom 42 zero turn lawnmowers. As the Zoom 50 has a much bigger mower deck, it consequently also has a much bigger engine. This engine pumps out 25 hp to the wheels and mower deck. It’s a Courage engine built by Kohler and is 0.726 liters in size. This 2 cylinder, 4 stroke engine is key started using an electric Warner system and gives the machine a top speed of 9.7 kph (6 mph) going forward and 4.8 kph (3 mph) when it’s reversing.

The dual hydrostatic transmission in the Ariens Zoom 50″ lawnmower is very cleverly designed as it distributes power to each rear wheel completely independently of the other wheel. This means that one rear wheel could be put into reverse while the other one is put into forwards (this is what will allow you turn with a zero turning radius). Power to each wheel is controlled by a left and right lap bar. This means that both the speed and direction of the Ariens 50 lawn mower is controlled by the operators hands.

This leaves the operator’s foot free to control the height of the mower deck on the Ariens Zoom 50″ zero turn lawn mower. As you should have already figured out from the name of the machine, the mower deck has a cutting width of 50 inches. It is fabricated from 12 gauge steel. The mower deck has 3 blades working together to give a very fine cut to the lawn you are working on. This deck can be raised and lowered in steps of 0.5 inches from 4 inches above the ground to 1 inch above the ground. One Review of the “Ariens Zoom 50”

  1. Rich Powell says:

Low Maintenance mower, oil change once a year and 2) air cleaners a season, that is all that has been done each year since purchased. Very fuel efficient, very well built. I also purchased an air ride seat to replace the stock one. Because the ride was too rough for my body. Though the ride is still rough, at least I am able, using the air ride seat, to walk when finished mowing. Most I have mowed in a day is approx. 5ac, lots of trees to go round, hills, valleys, tall grass, weeds, limbs, etc. Best mower I have personally owned.

    Year of Manufacture: 2014
Pros: Great on gas, reliability, etc. Fast to mow acreage
    Cons: I have found NONE.
Attachments: I do not have a bagger
    Modifications: None
