Husqvarna YTH24V48LS

The Husqvarna YTH24V48LS is very similar to the Husqvarna GTH27V48LS and it is much bigger than the Husqvarna YTH22V42LS. This 48 inch lawn mower from Husqvarna is powered by a 24 hp Kawasaki FR series engine. This engine drives the wheels through a Tuff Torq hydrostatic transmission that makes this machine an automatic with a top speed of 8.8 kph (5.5 mph). The YTH 24V 48LS comes with a 5 year chassis and axle warranty, but only a 3 year limited warranty for the rest of the mower (this is only available to people purchasing this machine for personal, residential use).

As previously mentioned, the mower deck on the Husqvarna YTH24V48LS has a cutting width of 48 inches. This mower is made up of 3 small, sharp blades. These blades are housed inside the steel deck which has anti scalping wheels located at the front of the deck to prevent it from scraping the ground it’s traveling over. The discharge chute is located on the side of the mower deck and acutally makes the total width of the deck much bigger at 1.6 m (63 inches) even though the cutting width only comes to 1.22 m (48 inches). The total length of this Husqvarna lawn mower comes to 1.75 m (69 inches) when there is no bagger attached to the back of it.

When you are using the Husqvarna YTH24V48LS tractor lawn mower, you can also purchase the optional bagger (which is attached at the back of the machine) to collect the grass clippings, giving your lawn a much neater look. However you might want to instead just simply discharge the clippings out the side of the mower deck. Unfortunately though this often leaves a rather unsightly mess of rotting grass on your lawn, so another option is to use a Bio Clip mulching kit.

Excellent I use it non stop in the summer at my house and a couple of other elderly folks homes.

    Year of Manufacture: 2015
Pros: Love the speed and the power of the three blades. I mow a large yard and about 5.5 acres of pasture a couple times of the season. Great mower. Easy to replace blades if you find big rocks and has grease points.
Cons: Seat is cracked after 22 months that seems way too soon ??
    Modifications: Better seat material

Pros: just recently purchased this Husqvarna YTH24V48LS

The engine is a Kawasaki 24 HP has no problem going through thick weeds and grass. Have not had a mower for 3 weeks..
I am very impressed with this mower.
And as you can see I keep them a long time as I bought the GT 6000 new.
    Cons: NONE
Attachments: Snow Blade craftsman from previous mower will fit on frame
    Modifications: NONE

Highly recommend this mower to anyone who is torn between a small tractor vs. a typical garden tractor, this machine will performend good enough that I do not regret its purchase. I will work the lawn into good shape again and this tractor will be there to help me do it.

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
Pros: I mow about 4 acres of rough grass with a slight;y sloped terrain. The acerage has been neglected and has many very uneven rough spots. The first time I cut the acerage the grass and weeds were about 6″ to 18″ tall and some spots were quite overgrown with tough old field grasses and weeds.

I placed teh deck height at 3.5″ and took off. This lawn tractor handled everything with ease, it cut through the tallest and toughest grass and weeds. I was pleasantly suprised about its performance. Not once did the tractor stall, although I did have to go slow due to the rough terrain and heavy grass and weeds.

I highly recommend this mower after this past week of returning this acerage to a nice yard to enjoy. It took me about 6 hours to finish the job.

Cons: The small wheels for this rough terrain were giving me quite a jar at times, Also, the reverse takes some getting used to.
