The Husqvarna LTH1538 garden tractor lawnmower is smaller than most of the other tractor lawn mowers that Husqvarna currently offer. The engine gives out a maximum of 15 hp, while the mower deck has a cutting width of 38 inches. If you are after something that either offers more power or has a larger cutting width, then you should take a look at the Husqvarna 2346XLS or the Husqvarna LGT2654 tractor lawn mowers. The 15 hp engine that powers the LTH 1538 is an Intek model from Briggs and Stratton. This is just a one cylinder engine with a total displacement of 0.508 liters. The engine draws gas from a small(ish) fuel tank that can hold just 5.7 liters (1.5 US gallons). The engine is started using a 12 volt battery.
The Husqvarna LTH1538 is thankfully an automatic with no gear changing required to speed up or slow down. Instead you just use the foot operated gas pedal. Power is delivered to the rear wheels which measure 18×9.5 (18 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width) while the front wheels which direct the LTH 1538 each measure 15×6 (15 inch diameter, 6 inch width). The frame of the lawnmower is constructed from 14 gauge steel.
The mower deck on the Husqvarna LTH1538 has 2 blades housed inside it. These 2 blades are powered using a belt drive system. The deck itself can operate as high as 3.5 inches above the ground if it has to tackle particularly long grass. Luckily it can be lowered by up to 3 inches down to within 0.5 inches above the ground to give a very tight cut. In total, there are 6 different cutting heights on the LTH1538 tractor lawnmower. Many people choose to use the optional bagger attachment on this mower to collect the grass clippings after they are cut leaving their lawn looking very neat. The other options for dealing with the clippings is to either mulch them or to just leave them lying on the grass.
