Toro Z Master Z558

The Toro Z Master Z558 zero turn lawn mower is very similar to the Toro Z Master Z528 zero turn mower due to the fact that many of their possible setups (engine/mower deck) are actually identical. There is a choice of 2 different engines when you first buy the Z 558 Z-Master. The less powerful engine has an output of 28 hp. This is a Kawasaki twin cylinder. The more powerful engine has a higher output of 30 hp. This 30hp engine is a Kohler two cylinder engine. Both engines feature overhead valves and use a full pressure lubrication system. They also both use a heavy duty canister type air filter to prevent dust and other particles from getting into the engine.

Power from the engine on the Toro Z Master Z558 lawnmower is passed to the wheels using a dual hydrostatic transmission which consists of Hydro-Gear pumps and Parker motors. This system allows the operator to control each rear wheel separately. The right lever controls the right rear wheel while the left lever controls the left rear wheel. Pushing the levers in opposite directions is what allows you to make a zero radius turn on the Z 558 Z Master. The top speed of the lawn mower going forwards is 16.1 kph (10 mph), while in reverse it can reach 10.1 kph (6.3 mph).

The rear wheels on the Toro Z Master Z558, which power the lawn mower measure 24×12-12 (24 inch diameter, 12 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter), while the front, semi-pneumatic wheels measure 13×6.5-6 (13 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter). There is a choice of mower deck on the Z558 zero turn lawn mower. The smallest has a cutting width of 52 inches, the next biggest has a cutting width of 60 inches and the largest has a cutting width of 72 inches.
