The Snapper ZT2652 zero turn lawnmower is one of 2 models in the Snapper 285Z series. The other, slightly more powerful lawnmower is the Snapper ZT27/46. The ZT 2642 is started by a Professional Series engine from Briggs and Stratton. This engine is a twin cylinder that has a power output of 26 hp. The engine is started by a 12V battery that produces 230 cold cranking amps. Power from the engine reaches the wheels after being passed through a Hydro-Gear EZT hydrostatic gearbox. This transmission is what allows the driver to make zero radius turns. It splits the power so that it can be directed to each rear wheel independent of the other, using the 2 lap bars in front of the driver.

As the Snapper ZT2652 is a zero turn lawnmower, the rear wheels do practically all of the work. They both provide the power and the steering. The purpose of the front wheels is just to keep the deck elevated above the lawn it’s traveling over. The ZT 2652 zero turn mower has a top speed of 9.7 kph (6 mph) going forwards and 4.8 kph (3 mph) when reversing. The mower deck on this lawnmower has a cutting width of 52 inches and houses 3 blades. These blades are made from 14 gauge steel.

One of the cool things about the Snapper ZT2652 is that the mower deck is adjusted electrically. This means that it has an infinite number of cutting heights between it’s maximum of 3.75 inches above the ground and minimum of 1 inch above the ground. The ZT 2652 zero turn lawnmower comes with 3 optional attachments. These are a steel dump cart that has a 10 cubic foot capacity and a bagger that has a 10 bushel capacity. The last attachment is a mulching kit that will quickly turn the grass clippings into a nutritious mulch.
