Simplicity L1730E Snow Blower

The Simplicity L1730E Snow Blower is the biggest snow blower in Simplicity’s large frame, dual stage snowblower series. The 2 other snow throwers in the series are both smaller than the L1730E. They are the Simplicity L1226E Snow Blower and the Simplicity L1528E Snow Blower. However this article will only be covering the L1730E snowblower. You can probably guess that it has a clearing width of 0.76 m (30 inches) from the name. It has an intake height of 0.5 m (19.75 inches).

The Simplicity L1730E snowblower is powered by a large and powerful Briggs and Stratton Professional Series 4 stroke engine. This engine provides the machine with 16.5 ft lbs of torque. This power is transferred to the wheels via a friction disc drive transmission that gives the snow thrower 6 speeds when traveling forwards and 2 speeds when reversing. The wheels on the L1730E have a width of 0.17 m (6.5 inches) and have a special ArticTrac thread that offers the wheels enhanced grip on icy and snow covered surfaces. The wheels can be locked independently so that you can turn this snowblower on a dime, making it very suitable for even difficult and oddly shaped driveways.

The tubular handlebars on the Simplicity L1730E snow blower are easy to grip and make operating it a breeze. Sitting on top of the snowblower is a Halogen headlight that makes operating this machine at dusk, dawn and during the night a whole lot easier as you can see exactly what you are doing. The total weight of this machine comes to 117.9 kg (260 lbs). This machine is mostly used by commercial snow clearing crews and businesses and it’s because of this that Simplicity offer a 90 day warranty on the snowblower to people using it for commercial purposes.

One Review of the “Simplicity L1730E Snow Blower”

  1. Bob Beall says:

Get’s the job done. As it is a commercial machine would be a lot for a small person or female to handle.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: This is a report on a Snapper Snow Blower with the same model # and engine as the Simplicity. Assume they are the same.

Will absolutely take on snow berms with no problems. Handles any snow loads as has breakers for snow higher than 24″ that work great.Just bought it in Feb 2011 and still learning how to handle as it is a very aggessive machine.

Cons: Have had a problem with engine cutting out. Have not yet pinned down the source of the problem. Could have something to do with the chute direction as when I direct it towards the right with lower elevation, It has shut down.
Also has a strong tendancey to pull to the right. Believe it’s an adjustment problem. Will have to discuss with the dealer. First gear setting a little to fast when working around cars etc. Dealer slowed it down which in turn raised the speed in reverse which is great.
