There are actually 2 very similar McCulloch M11577 garden tractor lawn mowers. One is the regular M11577, while the other is theĀ  McCulloch M11577H. Practically everything about both mowers is identical except for one crucial thing…their transmission systems. The transmission system on the McCulloch M11577H is a hydrostatic which means that the operator doesn’t need to change gears in order to change his/her speed. Instead there is a lever that you just press forwards or backwards in order to speed up or slow down. On the regular M11577 it uses a gearshift transmission system to speed up and slow down. This gear shift system gives the lawn tractor 5 forward speeds and one speed for reversing.

The engine powering both of these lawn tractors is a Briggs and Stratton that supplies the 6kW of net power at 2500 rpm. This is a one cylinder engine that draws gasoline from a fuel tank that can hold up to 4.7 liters (1.2 US gallons) of gas. The Briggs and Stratton engine uses a splash lubrication system to keep the engine constantly oiled. The total weight of the McCulloch M11577 lawnmower comes in at 172 kg (379.2 lbs). The mower deck on the lawn mower has a operational cutting width of 0.77 m (30 inches).

It’s standard way for dealing with the grass clippings is to just discharge them out the side of the mower deck. However, there is also a mulching kit that you can optionally buy for it which will turn the grass clippings into a fast decomposing mulch. There are actually 2 other variations of this model, these are the McCulloch M11577RB and McCulloch M11577HRB lawn mowers. The RB stands for rear bagger as both of these lawnmowers comes with a rear bagger as standard.
