John Deere X360

The mower deck on the John Deere X360 is acutally smaller than the mower deck on the John Deere X340. However due to it’s many upgraded features when compared to the JD X340, such as power steering, the JD X360 is considered the top of the range lawnmower in the X300 series. The engine in the John Deere X360 is a Kawasaki FH661V. This 2 cylinder, V twin engine has a displacement of 0.7 liters and a power output of 22 horsepower. It uses an air cooling system and requires 1.9 liters of oil to fully fill it. To start the engine, it uses a 12 volt battery supplying 195 cold cranking amps. This 12V battery is charged by a 15 amp alternator.

Thanks to it’s 4×2 2WD chassis and clever design, the John Deere X360 has a turning radius of just 22 inches meaning that it works well in both large open areas as well as smaller, more confined spaces. The JD X360 has a 48 inch mower deck that handily tackles very long grass and shoots it out the side of the machine. Or optionally you can attach a bagger that will collect all the grass clippings. The speed of the lawn mower is controlled using wet disc brakes.

The John Deere X360 utilizes CargO Mount technology so that it is capable of working with a whole host of useful attachments from snow blowers to scrapers to front blades to snow blades and aerators. The K58H, Kanzaki transmission does away with the need for a gear stick. This means that you only need to use the 2 pedals to travel either forwards or in reverse. The top speed of the X360 is 6.2 mph (10 kph) going forwards. In reverse, it’s top speed is 3.5 mph (5.6 kph). The hydrostatic transmission has a hydrostatic oil capacity of 2.8 liters.

it has a great kawasaki 22hp engine, the mower deck leaves a very nice finished lawn its turning radius is very short and the power steering is nice I wish that you could lift the deck higher for mowing tall grass etc. Overall I really like the x-360. It replaced a 318 which all pretty much had a bad engine. The x360 was not supposed to be as tough as the 318 but appears to be more reliable and does a better job of mowing.
