John Deere X320

The John Deere X320 is a part of the JD X300 series that includes the John Deere X324 and John Deere X360 lawn mowers. But this article is only going to focus on the JD X320 garden tractor lawn mower. It is powered by a Kawasaki V Twin, gasoline engine. It’s 2 cylinder engine has a displacement of 0.7 liters and is air cooled. It’s produces 22 hp which is is transferred to it’s wheels via a K58 automatic transmission meaning that the X320 has no gears which allows it to be operated more easily than previous models. Going forward, it has a top speed of 5.8 mph and when it’s reversing it has a top speed of 3.5 mph. It’s fuel tank can hold can hold a maximum of 13.2 liters (3.5 US gallons) of gasoline.

Thanks to it’s 2WD chassis, the John Deere X320 has a turning radius of just 0.4 m (1.3 feet) making it very agile in small gardens even though it’s 1.82 m (72 inches) long and 0.97 m (38.5 inches) wide. This is it’s width without a mower deck attached and this will increase substantially depending on the mowing deck that is attached. The operating weight of the tractor is 248 kg (548 lbs). This is without a mowing deck attached.

The John Deere X320 tractor lawnmower comes with 3 hitching points; one is obviously the rear hitch, but the other 2 are the deck and the fender. Due to the fact that the JD X320 uses the CargO Mount attachment system at all these points, it allows for a massive array of attachments to be used with the ride on mower, which makes it truly versatile around the garden. Attachments include utility carts, tractor shovels, front blades, mid mounted blades, cultivators, harrow discs, snow blowers, snow blades, sprayers and soil aerators.

never buy 300 series from JD dealers they are Home Depot tractor. transmission are junk. owner of 2 -320 series tractors from a JD dealer 7 years and 6 transmission later .

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
Pros: I have two x 320 bought a local dealer after they recommended these style tractors for my lawns. not many pros on this
Cons: I paid $15,000 for 2 tractors from a John deere dealer , I’m on my third transmission for both thats 6 transmissions , come to fine out it has the same transmission as a Home Depot tractor for $3000 , if I wanted a home depot tractor I would have gone to a home depot and bought it. my advise to consumers do not buy the 300 series. If the transmission is a seal component , it a Home Depot lemon, being sold by JD dealers . JD does not stand by this series , you the consumer are stuck paying the repairs

Dependable, comfortable, a joy to drive while mowing.

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: I have had my X320 4 years & have had no problems. It has the 48″ deck which is about right for my 2 acres. This is my second John Deere after going through numerous Big Box Store garden tractors.
    Cons: None

I like the tractor but wish it would restart easier and more consistently.

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
Pros: I enjoy the steering (ease of driving), seat comfort and overall performance. The mower has not been used a lot this summer given the heat (35hrs. so far.
Cons: Not sure if there is somethign wrong with the fuel system. After initially starting the mower and using it for a 30-45minutes I will turn off the engine to dump the bags. Restarting may take 3-6 turns of the key and re-choking the carburator. Took it to the dealer and they are saying you have to turn over the ignition and then choke it…(this still is not a sure fire thing…)

Pros: I love this x320 with the 48 inch Deck. Ride is very smooth and feels like top quality tractor. I have had several other tractors including the Cub Cadet and the Husqvarna both had 48 inch deck. They are not near the quality as this x320 Deer. I bought this from TRI County Equpment in Birch Run MI, the sales person was very nice and sevice was the best, looks like they live the core vales. This is very good quality, if thats what you are looking for then pay the extra dollarsyou will be happy you did. I paid $ 4100 I am very happy with this x320…..

TRI County Equipment in Birch Run MI ,was very nice to work with..

    Ben….

Cons: None its a great tractor, cant go wrong, I spent a lot of time and money on the box store tractors and was not happy with them. This cuts real nice….. no more push mowers….

I had the same problem a couple of years ago when it was new. I took it back and under warranty they replaced the carb. Said some have or develop a hair line crack in the carb body. Haven’t had a problem since.
