John Deere GX335

The John Deere GX335 lawnmower is a middle of the range lawnmower in the GX series that were manufactured in the JD production facility in Horicon, Wisconsin. This John Deere lawn mower has 2 different different mower decks that can be attached to it, a mower deck with a 48 inch cutting width or a mower deck with a 54 inch mower deck. Please keep in mind that each of these mower decks will be about 10 inches wider than their cutting widths due to their discharge chutes and flaps. As well as cutting your grass, the JD GX335 is also very adept at a lot of other task around the garden and outside. You can attach snowblowers, snow blades, thatchers and front blades to the front of the lawnmower, but you can also attach well over 20 other different types of implements to the back of it too, ranging from tillers to scrapers to utility carts. You can also add front and rear weight plates to balance the machine during operation.

The John Deere GX335 lawn mower gets it’s power from a Kawasaki FH601V gasoline engine. This V twin cylinder engine is air cooled and gives the machine 20 hp to play with. Power from the engine is transferred to the wheels through a hydrostatic transmission which means there is no gears to change on the JD GX335. Instead you just have John Deere’s Twin Touch pedals to control your speed and direction (forward or backwards).

While it’s a fairly heavy machine, weighing in at 309 kg (683 lbs), it’s also not the most nimble. It has a turning radius of 0.6 m (23.6 inches) despite having a wheelbase of 1.25 m (49 inches) and an overall length of 1.83 m (72 inches). If you are looking for other machines in the same series, then check out the John Deere GX325 or the John Deere GX345.

I found this used and in very bad condition with only 150 hours. After replacing carburetor and doing ALL maintenance this is by far the best mower I’ve ever owned. It’s a Cadillac compared to my past mowers. If you can run over it it can mow it! Very smooth PTO, fast and easy to steer with power steering. Cons are parts are hard to find and a bit pricey. Just blew the ignition module And my local JD dealer couldn’t find the part! Wanted to replace PTO switch while I was at it and they couldn’t find that either. EBay is the place to find parts for this machine. I give this mower a 9 out of 10 only because of parts availability
