John Deere GT345

The John Deere GT345 lawn mower is not a particularly well known John Deere mower. It first started rolling off the assembly lines in the mid-nineties. Similar models to it include the John Deere GT275 garden tractor lawn mower and the John Deere GT325 garden tractor lawnmower.

While the John Deere GT345 is compatible with a number of different mower decks, it’s also a good idea to keep in mind that there are also a huge range of different implements that can be attached to it to increase it’s usefulness. These include snow blowers, thatchers and front blades that can be attached to the front of the machine. Obviously a weight plates can also be attached to the front of the JD GT345 to keep it balanced when implements are attached to the back. On the back, the first attachment that comes to most people’s minds is a bagger to collect cut grass clippings. However it should be noted that there are also a number of other attachments that can be attached to the back of the JD GT345. These include scrapers, carts, harrows and brushes.

Please consider reviewing the John Deere GT345 below to give people a better idea as to what they should expect from it, if you own or have owned a JD GT345 in the past. Remember to include the year of manufacture as well as the pros and cons you found when operating it. On top of this, it’s a good idea to give people an indication of what attachments/implements you use with it. Try to include their size in inches whether it’s a mower deck or snowblower. If you (or previous owners) have made any modifications, please make sure to list them also.

One Review of the “John Deere GT345”

  1. m daniels says:

Loved it and loved it until it caught fire and burned up. Probably developed a gas leak at the carb or a stuck float. Couldn’t tell exactally because it burnt to a crisp. Gas line did not fall off. Heavy mowing while I owned it. Ultimate champ snowblower… just the right size with good throw. Last day I mowed about 6 hours heavy field mowing to prep for planting spruce trees. Suddenly a little smoke, then small flames, then holy moly and hot dang. Didn’t know my then 45 y/o butt could run for the extinguisher so fast. To late it was a melted mess by the time I got it out. Great machine but bolt an extinguisher somewhere handy.

    Year of Manufacture: 1996
Pros: Power Steering, Foot Controls, Power Deck lift/ Snow Blower lift
Cons: Water Cooled. Very very bad carb placement over muffler.
Attachments: I had 54″ mower deck and JD single stage snow blower
