The John Deere 8000 E-Cut Hybrid fairway mower is very similar to both the John Deere 7500 E-Cut Hybrid and the John Deere 7700 PrecisionCut lawnmowers. The main reason is that it uses the same Yanmar diesel engine as the other 2 lawnmowers. However it’s total cutting width is 20 inches smaller than both of the JD 7500 E-Cut Hybrid and the JD 7700 fairway mowers. The Yanmar engine that powers all 3 mowers, including the JD 8000 is a 3 cylinder that is liquid cooled. This engine has a max output of 37.1 hp. This powers both the wheels and the mowing units.

There are only 3 wheels on John Deere 8000 E-Cut Hybrid fairway lawnmower. 2 front wheels and a single rear wheel. Power is transferred to all 3 wheels, but the rear wheel is responsible for steering the machine. All three wheels are the same size. Each measures 24×12-12 (24 inch diameter, 12 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter). All three wheels are smooth and have a ground pressure of 10 psi which means there in no risk of marking the fairway during operation. The wheels are slowed using a disc and dynamic braking system. Moving forwards and reversing is controlled via a 2 pedals. The top speed of the JD 8000 lawnmower is 14 kph (9 mph) when it’s not mowing grass and the mowing units are raised. When there are down and engaged, it’s top speed is 10 kph (6 mph). Reversing, it can hit a top speed of 8 kph (5 mph).

There are a total of 5 identical mower units attached to the front of the John Deere 8000 E-Cut Hybrid fairway lawn mower. Each cutting unit has a width of 18 inches, while it’s total cutting width comes in at 80 inches. There is a choice of having either 7 or 11 blades on each reel. All reels have a diameter of 5 inches. When buying the JD 8000 brand new, it comes with a 2 year limited warranty.
