John Deere 726E Snowblower

The John Deere 726E, 26 inch wide compact snow blower is is almost twice as powerful as it’s smaller brother, the John Deere 522E snow thrower, with it’s 4 stroke, 0.2 liter Briggs and Stratton Snow Series engine that provides this single stage snowblower with 9 ft-lbs of gross torque power. The 26 inch clearing width is great is you need to tackle light to mid sized falls of snow. However, you may consider using a more powerful model, such as the John Deere 827E snow blower if you find that you are constantly struggling with this model.

Like it’s smaller brother, the John Deere 726E has a push button start which is a relief as you don’t need to worry about hurting your fingers trying to start it with a pull cord. The engine power is routed through a friction disc drive transmission which gives the JD 726e snowblower 6 speeds when moving forward and 2 speeds in reverse.

Snow entering the 26 inch mouth of the 726E is pulverized by the notched flighting on the steel auger, before being shot out of the chute deflector. The chute deflector has a turning radius of 190 degrees, is manually adjusted and can be easily removed. The John Deere 726E snow blower has strong gripping 5 inch wide X Trac tires to help prevent it from slipping during operation. Unfortunately you cannot get this snow blower with the John Deere promise.

engine has been reliable. Needed to buy after market skid pads from another manufacturer which should have been available from manufacturer. Durrability is bad. My Homelite lasted 15 years before I had to replace it and a John Deere strat btreaking after ?!?! Very frustrating I expected much better quality

    Year of Manufacture: 0
Pros: worked great for the first 2.5 years
Cons: auger stopped working in the middle of the 2015 blizzard!!!
Modifications: Ariens Teflon non-scratch skid shoe, the original ones were destroying my pavers

I have used this machine 4 times in snow ranging from 8 inches to 4 ft deep. This machine can go through snow real easily. It starts on the first pull manually and I have not tried to use the electric starter since I do not have access to it where I store it. It is really quiet for its size which makes me wonder if it runs at full throttle even though you have no way of adjusting the throttle. It never plugs up and ihas been used in wet snow and dry packed. I let my friends use this when I finish mine so even though it is the smaller model it doesn’t act like it. I only wish the model had the shifter extend to the top of the handle bars however, all manufactuers make you bend down to change the speed.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Very powerful, easy to start manually. Simple controls and easy to use.
Cons: Can be difficult to unlock the wheel pin for easier transporting.
    No Throttle adjustment.
