The John Deere 717 tractor is quite an old machine. It was produced in the Getafe facility in Spain during the sixties. As a result it is not a particularly well known machine (especially in the US). The tractor gets it’s power from a diesel engine that is designed and produced by JD themselves. The engine is kept cool through a liquid cooling system. It has a paper type air filter which cleans the air intake of small particulate matter that has the potential to clog the engine and hinder performance. This engine in the JD 717 has a total power output of 54.9 hp.
