John Deere 6920

The John Deere 6920 is one of the many farming tractors manufactured under the brand name of John Deere. It’s funny to think that John Deere came into existence in the late 1880s when a blacksmith named John Deere started it. And now today, they are one of the leading tractor manufacturers worldwide.

The 6 cylinder engine has been designed in house by John Deere. The JD 6920 has an impressive fuel tank storage capacity of 207 liters. The turbocharged engine is reliable and efficient under any circumstances and is also equipped with a viscous fan which manages to keep it cool during periods of heavy stress and high temperatures.  The average fuel consumption of this tractor is a little more than 30 liters per hour. However, this model is known to offer more mileage if the speed is high on a higher gear.

The John Deere 6920 has a multi disc wet clutch plate. It is operated by a rotary switch which works on electrically. It is essential to use the clutch in order to change the gears. The gearbox is stepless and power branching. The tractor is equipped with 2 shift levers.

It has got disc brakes which are oil immersed at the rear. These brakes are operated hydraulically. The tractor has two doors for entry and exit. It has got windows at rear and side. It is also equipped with a roof hatch and an Air Conditioner.

The noise level of this model is also kept as low as possible. The average noise level is 72 db (A) when driven at 7.5 km/h.

The width of the John Deere 6920 is 2430mm while the length is 5380mm. The wheelbase of this tractor measures 2650mm. The total Height at cab is measured at 2915mm while that till the exhaust silencer pipe is measured at 2895mm. The distance from the trailer hitch till the PTO shaft end is 180mm. The distance between the lower link couplers to the PTO shaft end is 530mm.

The chassis of the JD 6920 is all wheel drive. It has got universal joints with central diving shafts. The front lock is multi plate and self engaging. It also consists of a rear multi plate differential lock. Both the front and the rear lock are electro hydraulically operated.
