The John Deere 6230 utility tractor is a highly customizable machine that with the right attachments can take care of practically any job on your farm or property. This is a highly recommended machine for those who run farms with various different activities going on at the same time.The JD 6230 gets it’s strength from a PowerTech 4045HL280 engine that is built in house. This diesel turbocharged engine is a 4 cylinder model and has a displacement of 4.5 liters. The engine is liquid cooled. The size of the cooling system depends on whether it has a cab or open operator station. With a cab, the cooling system has a capacity to hold 29.1 liters of water, while with an open operator station, the cooling system requires 26.5 liters of water. The engine has a power output of 94 hp.

Like so many of the JD tractors in the 6000 line, the John Deere 6230 has a choice of transmissions. These include a PowrReverser transmission which gives you 16 forward and reversing gears or a PowrQuad transmission which also gives you 16 gears going forwards and in reverse. If you are not happy with these choices, then you can choose a SynchroPlus transmission which gives the JD 6230 12 speeds going forward and 4 in reverse or a different PowrQuad gearbox that gives you 24 forward and reversing gears.

If the JD 6230 doesn’t take your fancy you can instead opt for a different tractor from JD like the John Deere 6130D or the John Deere 6140D utility tractors. The gear box is not the only aspect of the machine where you have some choice. You can also add ballast at multiple points (front, back, wheels) as well as number of lighting packages which will give you better visibility during the night. This is not forgetting the huge amount attachments that can be fitted onto the category 2, 3 point hitch at the back of the JD 6230.
