John Deere 5105ML

The John Deere 5105ML low profile tractor is very similar to the John Deere 5105M tractor as they both use the same engine which gives the same power output. This engine is the PowerTech E4045 which is diesel powered and has 4 cylinders. The engine uses a full pressure lubrication system that holds up to 12.9 liters of engine oil. The engine uses a dry air filter which prevents dust and other small particles from entering and potentially clogging the combustion chambers. The engine is cooled via a cooling system that needs to be topped up with 13.6 liters of water from empty.

The engine on John Deere 5105ML is started by a 12 volt battery. This 12V battery provides 925 cold cranking amps to the tractor. The tractor then recharges the battery using a 70 amp alternator once the engine is ticking over. As the JD 5105ML is often used in orchards, you’ll be glad to know that the rear wheels feature large mud guards which also protect low lying branches from getting damaged by the wheels as you drive past them and brush off them.

The tractor fortunately uses a differential lock for better traction. This also stops the tractor from digging up the potentially fragile ground that it’s traveling over. The category 2 hitch (which can be converted to a category 1 hitch) on the John Deere 5105ML has a maximum safe lifting capacity of 2040 kg (4498 lbs). The JD 5105ML with a 2WD chassis weighs in at 3311 kg (7300 lbs) when being shipped with a cab, while the JD 5105ML with a MFWD chassis weighs in at 3493 kg (7700 lbs) when being shipped with a cab. The low profile of the JD 5105ML is desirable to people who will be using it in low ceiling sheds and those who work around trees in orchards and elsewhere.
