John Deere 410

The John Deere 410 is a backhoe loader tractor that has been brought back to life in recent years. It originally appeared in 1971, when it was manufactured in a production run that lasted 12 years until 1983. However there is now a newer version, the John Deere 410J that is in current production that is also a backhoe loader tractor, but we will first talk about the original and older JD 410.

It has a choice of 2 engines, one gasoline and the other diesel. The gasoline engine was manufactured by John Deere and is a 4 cylinder, 3.6 liter model capable of producing 62 hp. The diesel model has the same displacement of 3.6 liters and is also a 4 cylinder providing 62 hp. Both are liquid cooled and require 16.1 liters of coolant to adequately cool them while they also share the same oil capacity at 8.5 liters. The weight of the original John Deere 410 is 5667 kg (12,495 lbs) while it measures 7.25 meters (285.5 inches) long and 2.13 meters (84 inches) wide. It appears far longer than your average tractor due to the simple reason that this length includes it’s front end loader and backhoe.

The John Deere 410J has a more powerful engine at 98 hp. It’s a John Deere 4045HT054 and is a 4 cylinder model with a displacement of 4.5 liters. It’s wet, multi disc brakes allow for both efficient and safe braking. The backhoe on the JD 410J uses the Tier 3 PowerTech, wet-sleeve engine for superior control and power. This model is a real time saver as all service points that need daily and repeated checks are easily accessable. The digging force of the backhoe clocks in at 8,741 lbs, while it has a reach of 6 meters (19 feet, 8 inches) from it’s swing center. The front end loader has a bucket that is 2.18 m (86 inches) wide, while having a breakout force of 10,210 lbs. The new 410J seems to have picked up where the old JD 410 has left off.
