The Husqvarna Rider 175 ride on lawn mower uses a Briggs and Stratton engine to power it. This is quite a small 1 cylinder engine that has a total displacement of just 0.502 liters. The engine is prevented from overheating thanks to an air cooling system and uses overhead valves. The engine uses a standard air filter to clean dust and other particulate matter from the air intake during operation which can potentially damage the engine. The total power output from the engine is 17.5 hp. The Rider 175 lawnmower is quite unlike any other lawn mower that you’ll find from the guys at Husqvarna. The deck is front mounted, yet it has the feel of almost being a ride on, tractor lawn mower.

The deck on the Husqvarna Rider 175 is a CombiClip type deck. This deck houses 3 blades and has a total cutting width of 41 inches. The deck is belt driven and features 2 large gauge wheels on the front of it to prevent it catching the ground as it travels across it. The mower deck can be raised and lowered over 7 cutting positions. The lowest it can operate is 1.6 inches above the ground, while the highest that it can cut grass at is 3.5 inches above the ground. While the cutting width of the mower deck comes to 41 inches, the total width of the machine comes to 44.1 inches due to the protective edging around the deck.

Using a Tuff Torq K46 hydrostatic transmission, the Husqvarna Rider 175 is an automatic with no gear changing required at all. It has a top speed of 9 kph (5.6 mph) when traveling forwards, but when it’s reversing, it can only hit 3.1 kph (1.9 mph). Unlike a lot of tractor and zero turn lawn mowers which have different sized front and rear wheels, all 4 wheels on the Rider 175 have the same sized wheels.
