The Bad Boy 6000 COMD zero turn lawn mower is the smallest and least powerful zero turn lawn mower from the 3 machines in the AOS diesel series. The other 2 more powerful machines are the Bad Boy 6000 AOSD and the Bad Boy 7200 AOSD lawn mowers. The 6000COMD gets it’s power from a from a diesel engine designed and built by CAT. This engine is a three cylinder with a large total displacement of 1.1 liters. The engine is prevented from overheating thanks to a liquid cooling system and uses a 12V battery to start it. The battery is then recharged via a 20 amp alternator once the engine is up and running.

The fuel tank on the Bad Boy 6000 COMD zero turn mower is massive, capable of holding up to 68.1 liters (18 US gallons) of diesel. As the 6000COMD lawnmower is a hydrostatic model, it’s speed and direction are controlled via the twin lap bars in front of the operator. These control the rear wheels via a combination of Hydro-Gear pumps and Parker wheel motors. This system is what allows you to make zero radius turns on the lawn mower.

The mower deck on the Bad Boy 6000 COMD zero turn lawn mower has a total cutting width of 60 inches. The deck has quite a large range of 3 inches over which it can be raised and lowered. Each of the 3 blades housed inside the deck have a total length of 20.5 inches. Thankfully, the deck does not require much effort to raise and lower it from it’s high of 5 inches above the ground down to it’s low of 1.5 inches above the ground due to an electronic height adjuster. The mower deck on the 6000COMD is ‘hardcore’ with a thickness of 0.25 inches meaning that it will almost never break or bend, even after particularly heavy knocks and bruises.
