The John Deere JS20 self propelled, walk behind lawn mower is powered by a Briggs and Stratton engine that has a displacement of 0.189 liters which is similar than many other JD walk behind lawn mowers. The Briggs & Stratton has a power output of 6.75 hp that is channeled to both the blade and the rear wheels which drive the JD JS20 forwards. The engine is a 4 stroke. There is a variable transmission used to control the speed of the mower.

The mower deck on the John Deere JS20 is 21 inches wide (just like on practically every single residential push lawn mower that you can currently buy). You have 3 different ways for dealing with the grass clippings. Many people collect them in the rear bagger (which has a capacity to hold up to 2.5 bushels). However others like to mulch them to provide nutrition to the grass after it’s been cut. The last option is also the ugliest (but the most convenient).
