John Deere 135

The John Deere 135 lawn mower is part of the JD 100 series that was produced in 2006 in Horicon, Wisconsin. This lawn tractor is bigger than the likes of the John Deere 115 lawn mower and the John Deere 125 lawnmower, while it’s not quite as big as the John Deere 145 garden tractor lawnmower. It gets it’s power from a 2 cylinder, V twin Briggs and Stratton engine that has an engine size of 0.725 liters (44 cubic inches). To start the JD 135 you don’t need to use a recoil mechanism, instead it’s key-started with a 12 V battery, that gets recharged via a 14 amp alternator when the engine is on.

Power produced by the engine is transferred to the wheels via a Tuff Torq T40 hydrostatic transmission that makes the tractor an automatic with no need for gear changing. The top speed of the John Deere 135 is 8.8 mph (5.5 mph). You’ll be very pleased to know that if you are planning to use the JD 135 on very rough ground, the front axle is very unlikely to break thanks to the fact that it’s made from cast iron. To attach a sun canopy or a rear bagger to collect grass clippings at the back of the lawnmower, John Deere have developed the CargO Mount system which makes for very quick attaching/detaching. However you also have the option of mulching the clippings or discharging them out the side of the mower deck.

Even though the John Deere 135 is quite large with a total length of 1.75 (69 inches) (not including a bagger attachment), it still has a very reasonable minimum turning radius of just 0.5 m (18 inches). The mower deck on the JD 135 has a cutting width of 42 inches which is not particularly wide, when compared a lot of other John Deere lawnmowers.
