Toro Z Master G3 48 Inch Mowers

The Toro Z Master G3 series consists of many similar machines that each have a 48 inch mower deck. These are the 74901, the 74922 and the 78922 models. The main difference between each of these 3 models is the engine each uses. The Toro 74901 uses a 23 hp Kohler Command engine. The Toro 74922 and the Toro 78922 are both powered by the same 24 hp Kawasaki engine. Besides their engines, practically everything is the same about these Z Master G3 series of zero turn mowers with 48 inch decks.

The cutting decks on all 3 of the Toro Z Master G3 48″ lawn mowers are all identical and all are constructed from strong 7 gauge steel. The mower deck has a special ‘Bull Nose’ bumper which prevents the deck from flexing in any instance where it hits a fixed object in the ground. On top of this, the mower deck also has a set of small plastic wheels attached at the front of the deck which prevents it from scraping the ground in front of it. The specific name for this deck is a Turbo Force mower deck. The mower deck has a large range through which it can be adjusted, from as low as 1 inch from the ground, up to 5.5 inches above the ground. It can be raised and lowered in 0.25 inch increments.

The maximum speed of the Toro Z Master G3 48 inch zero turn mowers is 16.1 kph (10 mph). Steering as well as your speed is controlled via 2 hand controlled lap bars in front of the driver. Thanks to the dual hydrostatic transmission, these Z Master G3 48″ mowers have a zero turning radius. Even though the mower deck has a cutting width of just 48 inches, you’ll be happy that it has a massive fuel tank of 45.4 liters (12 US gallons). You’ll also be glad to see that these machines have a foldable roll bar (ROPS) to protect the driver if the machine does happen to tip over on a hill.
