Snapper NXT19542

The Snapper NXT19542 garden tractor lawnmower is part of the Snapper NXT series of lawnmowers. This mower is one of the least powerful ride on lawn mowers that Snapper produce. It cuts lawns with it’s mower deck that has a cutting width of just 42 inches. The mower deck on the NXT 19542 houses 2 blades inside it. These blades cut at a height between 1.5 inches and 4 inches. The height of the blades is controlled electrically. This electric raising and lowering of the mower deck gives rise to infinite cutting heights. The mower deck is attached to the 2WD chassis of the lawnmower which is constructed from 12 gauge steel.

Rather than using a pull cord, recoil system or keystarting system, the Snapper NXT19542 uses a push button starting system using a 12 volt battery that supplies 230 cold cranking amps. This battery is then recharged by an alternator once the engine is on. Even though the NXT 19542 does not have a very wide mower deck, it does have the advantage of being able to make incredibly tight turns. It has a minimum turning radius of just 14 inches. Unlike practically every other lawnmower manufacturer, Snapper have given this mower a mesh seat. This clever seat material means that it doesn’t collect water if left outside and is breathable too.

The Snapper NXT19542 is powered by a small Professional Series engine from Briggs and Stratton that has a power output of just 19.5 hp. This engine has just one cylinder. It powers the rear wheels by passing power to them through a hydrostatic transmission. This transmission gives the NXT 19542 a top speed of 9 kph (5.6 mph). If this machine does not have enough power for your needs then you may be instead interested in either the Snapper NXT2346 or the Snapper NXT2752 tractor lawn mowers.

One Review of the “Snapper NXT19542”

  1. jeff says:

200 hours on it, mowing 1/2 acre, it’s been babied and garaged, so it has performed pretty well. . . just concerned with the electronics. . . had to replace the push button starter. . . bad from the factory. Poor dealer response. front wheels not greased from the factory, had to be replaced in a mere 20 hours. . . dealer tried to blame me, but later replaced ruined parts. You need to stay on top of greasing everything often. . mower needs BABIED and it will do pretty good.
