Kubota ZD323

The Kubota ZD323 zero turn lawnmower is a diesel powered machine with a mower deck that has a cutting width of 60 inches. The ZD 323 gets it’s power from a Kubota made engine, the Kubota D902-E3-ZD. This liquid cooled engine has 3 cylinders and a total engine size of 0.898 liters. The engine’s power output is 23 horsepower which you hopefully guessed from the name of the tractor. The engine is keystarted using a 12 volt battery. This battery supplies the engine with 450 cold cranking amps. When the engine is running, a 14 amp alternator recharges the battery.

Power from the engine on the Kubota ZD323 gets to the wheels of the mower through a HST hydrostatic transmission that Kubota designed and built themselves. It’s this transmission which allows the operator to control the power directed to each rear wheel independent of the other. By controlling each wheel separate from the other, the operator is able to make zero radius turns. Rather than using a steering wheel to control the direction and foot pedals to control the speed, the lap bars control both the speed and direction of the ZD 323.

The mower deck on the Kubota ZD323 , as stated before, has a cutting width of 60 inches. It consists of 3 blades and has a depth of 6.5 inches which allows it to handle very long grass. You will notice on the front of the mower deck that there are small anti scalping wheels on both the leading and trailing edges. The purpose of these is to prevent the deck from scraping or ‘scalping’ the lawn when you are traveling over uneven or lumpy ground. The mower deck is capable of being lowered to within 1 inch of the ground and raised up to 5 inches above the ground in small 0.25 inch increments. If you are looking for a larger Kubota lawnmower in the Z series, then you may be interested in the Kubota ZD326, while the Kubota ZD321 is a smaller model.

It has been a costly nightmare. less than 150 hours when it bit the dust

    Year of Manufacture: 2015
Pros: does an adequate job cutting grass
Cons: Poorly designed cooling system. If you have not run yours hot you will. It will cause $3000.00 worth of damage. When overheating alarm sounds your engine is already damaged. dealer all know so they have the “it was your fault ” speech down pat
