Kubota RTV1140CPX

The Kubota RTV1140CPX utility vehicle is the largest machine in the RTV range from Kubota. This machine gets it’s power from Kubota D1105-E3-UV diesel, overhead valve engine. This 3 cylinder engine has a displacement of 1.123 liters. The engine is a 4 stroke and is kept cool thanks to a liquid cooling system. The engine gets it’s fuel from a tank that can hold up to 30 liters (7.9 US gallons) of diesel.

Thankfully the Kubota RTV1140CPX is very easy to control. This is because it uses a variable hydrostatic transmission system. This transmission system gives the RTV1140CPX infinite speeds over 3 different gear ranges. This transmission gives the RTV 1140 CPX a top speed of 40 kph (25 mph) which makes it very nippy if you have a lot of distance to cover. Controlling the machine is fairly simple for a number of reasons. One is the fact that the operator has the choice of switching between 2WD and 4WD when he needs more control. Braking on this utility vehicle is done using a wet disc brake. There is also a differential lock.

One of the cool things about the Kubota RTV1140CPX is that you can purchase in bright orange, which makes it highly visible, while if you would prefer not to stand out, you can always get it in camouflage color. The vehicle comes with a cargo bed in the rear which has a maximum safe loading capacity of 500 kg (1102 lbs). You’ll also be glad to know that you can optionally add a front blade on the front of it to clear snow or other debris. IF you are looking for a utility vehicle from Kubota that’s a little smaller than the RTV 1140 CPX, then you should check out the Kubota RTV500 or the Kubota RTV900 or the Kubota RTV1100 utility vehicles as they are both smaller and less powerful.

  1. Ben Thomas says:

This product is not as advertised, Kubota won’t admit (at least to general public) major issue with HST and torque. We own a hunting preserve, bought (2) of these specifically based on the advertised payload. In low range, with no passenger, not steep but gradual/ long incline, machine slows to 8 mph. With 3 grown men and 2 deer, slowed to 4 mph and literally almost bogged completely down. Took it in, they “adjusted” pressures, unit came back worse. Kubota Rep’s suggestion to my dealer was “tell customer to drive it until it fails”. Dealership won’t own any of costs I now have to replace $40,000 worth of units that will not perform the task that I specifically told them I needed the units for. Bought a 900 Polaris and it preforms with speed/torque. I will never buy a Kubota product again.

Very good unit. Not many problems

    Year of Manufacture: 2009
Pros: Built like a tank, convertable to hold more passangers or more cargo. Can uese red diesel fuel and goes forever on one tank. Tuff enough to handle grandkid abuse and still go. Had a 900 for 4 years and sold it for almost what I paid. Holds it value like most Kubota products
Cons: Diesel in not quiet, bed tends to rattle, won’t go over 25mph if you in a hurry. Tire leak not the best. Speedometer won’t alway work neither will the horn
Modifications: Roof, glass windshield, winch, high air intake,
