John Deere Z930A

The John Deere Z930A zero turn lawn mower is both larger and more powerful than either the John Deere Z920A or the John Deere Z925A lawnmowers. The engine that powers the JD Z930A is a Kawasaki that is interestingly powered by gasoline (not diesel as you might expect for commercial lawnmower). The engine provides a max power output of 29 hp. This engine use a fully pressurized lubrication system that comes with a replaceable oil filter to keep everything working properly. The engine also has a single walled muffler to prevent excessive noise during operation. The Kawasaki engine is started by a 12 volt battery that provides 300 cold cranking amps to the engine. This battery is charged via a 20 alternator when the engine is turned on.

The engine on the John Deere Z930A zero turn mower transfers power to the wheels through a Tuff Torq dual hydrostatic transmission. This transmission allows for the control of each rear wheel independently using the lap bars in front of the operator. By pressing the lap bars in opposite directions, you can execute zero radius turns. The rear wheels on the JD Z930A lawnmower each measure 24×12-12 (24 inch diameter, 12 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter). The rear wheels are far larger than the front wheels due to the fact that they carry most of the lawnmower’s weight. They are also responsible for steering it and powering it. The front wheels are really only there to balance the JD Z 930 A and to make sure that the mower deck does not scrape the ground as it’s traveling over it.

There is a choice of 3 different mower decks for the John Deere Z930A zero turn lawn mower. The first is a 60 inch deck that discharges grass out the side, the second also has a cutting width of 60 inches and can mulch the grass clippings on demand and the largest is a 72 inch deck.
