The John Deere Z810A zero turn lawn mower is the smallest machine in the Pro 800 Series of lawn mowers from JD. Larger models include both the John Deere Z820A and the John Deere Z830A zero turn lawn mowers. The JD Z810A is powered by a Kawasaki 22 hp engine. This engine has a total displacement of 0.675 liters. The engine uses a full pressure lubrication system to make sure that everything works smoothly without the risk of seizing up. The engine uses a canister air filter with a pre cleaner to purge the air intake of dust and other impurities. The engine is prevented from over heating thanks to an air cooling system. The engine is started by a 12 volt battery that is then recharged by a 20 amp alternator once the engine is running.

This Kawasaki engine transfers power to the wheels of the John Deere Z810A through a dual hydrostatic transmission that allows the rear wheels to be independently controlled. The max speed that this dual hydrostatic transmission allows the JD Z810A to travel at is 19.3 kph (12 mph) and in reverse it can travel at up to 8 kph (5 mph). The rear wheels, through which power is transferred each measure 24×12-12 (24 inch diameter, 12 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter) while the front wheels are a good deal smaller due to the fact that they don’t carry as much weight. They each measure 13×6.5-6 (12 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter).

The mower deck on the John Deere Z810A has a cutting width of 54 inches (you can optionally get it with a 48 inch deck too). This deck has 3 blades. The blades are belt driven. They can be raised and lowered in small 0.25 inch measurements from a low of 1.5 inches above the ground to a high of 5 inches above the ground. The total weight of the JD Z810A comes to 577.9 kg (1274 lbs).
