The John Deere Z425 EZTrak zero turn mower is another popular zero turn lawn mower from JD. You will not usually find this mower being used by individual homeowners, but instead this EZ Track garden lawnmower is aimed at professional garden contractors, commercial landscapers and full time lawn cutting services. It is the bigger, more powerful brother of the John Deere EZTrak Z225 lawn mower. It has a much more powerful Briggs And Stratton gasoline engine. It’s 2 cylinder, V twin engine, pumps an impressive 23 hp via a 0.7 liter engine. This engine like the JD Z225 lawn mower’s engine is air cooled. It requires 1.75 quarts of oil to maintain full lubrication.
The fuel tank on the John Deere Z425 EZ Trak lawnmower can carry up to 13.2 liters (3.2 US gallons) of petrol which is enough for up to 4 acres of grass cutting. It uses Parker wheel motors to power the 2 rear wheels. The wheelbase on the JD EZ Trak Z425 measures 1.22 m (48 inches), but it’s overall width varies, depending on whether you use the 48 inch mowing deck or the larger 54 inch deck. The length of the John Deere Z425 is 1.9m (74.7 inches). It has a total weight of 293 kg (645 lbs) which again makes this John Deere zero turn lawn mower much more efficient when compared to a garden tractor with a similar sized engine.
The width of the cut on this mower is either 48 inches or 54 inches depending on the mower deck you have attached. The lift system is hand operated like most JD zero turn mowers. You can adjust the cutting depth from 2 – 10 cm (1 – 4 inches) in 0.25 inch increments. If you are thinking of purchasing this zero turn mower from John Deere, why not consider a slightly small one if you have just one lawn to cut each summer. As previously stated the Z425 EZTrack lawn mower is primarily aimed at commercial outfits.
