The John Deere X595 is the larger version of the John Deere X585 garden tractor lawn mower. It was built at the JD plant in Horicon, Wisconsin for a period of 4 years from 2002 until production of this model finished in 2006. It came with the choice of 2 engines. The first is a Yanmar 3TNE74 diesel engine. This natural aspiration, 3 cylinder engine has a displacement of 1 liter and power output of 24 hp. It has a liquid cooling system that requires 2.8 liters of coolant to fully fill it and has a dual paper air filter. Interestingly the oil required for this engine is 2.8 liters.  The other engine you can get with this model is the Yanmar 3TNV76 diesel engine. This 3 cylinder, natural aspiration engine has a slightly bigger engine at 1.1 liters, but actually has the same power output as the the smaller one at 24 hp. It too has a liquid cooling system that needs 2.8 liters of coolant to fill it up completely. The oil required to keep the 3THV76 properly lubricated is acutally less that the smaller engine. It needs just 2.1 liters.

The John Deere X595 has an infinite number of gears thanks to it’s hydrostatic transmission. The transmission requires 6.6 liters of fuel to operate optimally. Going forward the JD X595 maxes out at an impressive 8.5 mph. While in reverse it can hit up to 5 mph (which is more than some tractor lawn mowers can manage going forward!). The X595 is quite a tank for a ride on lawnmower; it’s 2 m (78.8 inches) long and has a wheelbase of 1.41 m (55.7 inches) but depending on the mower deck that’s attached, it’s overall width can be considerably bigger. It weighs in at 504 kg (1113 lbs) and has a minimum turning radius of 0.7 m (2.3 feet).

When purchasing this garden tractor, you have a choice between either a 2WD drive or a 4WD drive model. There is also a variation of this model called the John Deere X595SE lawn tractor. The JD X595 SE is different in that is has a better seat, a quality brush guard and upgraded wheels.
