John Deere X575

The John Deere X575 lawnmower is a non current model from the ‘X’ series. It is powered by a Kawasaki FD671D, 0.745 liter engine. This 2 cylinder engine provides the JD X575 with 23 hp to power both the wheels and the mower deck. The options for a mower deck are a 48 inch, 54 inch or a massive 62 inch John Deere mowing deck. It should be noted that while 23 hp is a lot for a lawn mower, if you are using the 62 inch deck, you are more likely to stall in wet or very long grass. The engine is liquid cooled and uses a dual paper element air filter on the air intake.

If you are interested in larger models than the John Deere X575, then you should consider the John Deere X585 or the John Deere X595 lawnmowers. While it may seem mouthwatering to own such a large and powerful lawnmower, you should keep in mind that it is actually mostly aimed at landscaping companies and garden contractors as it is just not efficient to own and use one if you have a small garden (0.5 – 2.5 acres). This machine is designed specifically for large areas of grass, such as commercial parks, schools and playing fields. The fact that it is also compatible with a massive range of implements helps to contribute to the popularity of this John Deere mower. You can attach snow blowers, mid mounted blades, sprayers, cultivators, rotary tillers, utility carts and obviously a bagger to the back of this mower.

If you own a very large property and need to cut many acres (3+) quickly and efficiently, then the John Deere X575 is a great buy for you. However if you are a homeowner that has a reasonably small garden then, it’s advisable to choose a mower that suits you needs better and saves you money at the same time. One Review of the “John Deere X575”

  1. Donald Strotman says:

    Nothing but GREAT!

    Year of Manufacture: 2005
Pros: The x575 is an amazingly versatile machine. The 4 wheel drive, hydraulics and tight turning radius make it especially useful in performing a variety of jobs around my property. If you own an acre and can find one of these machines for sale, at a reasonable price, buy it.
Cons: My x575 must be choked to start, hot or cold. However, my brother owns a 2002 model x575 and it starts without a choke when hot.
Disconnecting the drive shaft, from the engine to the rear end, is not easily accomplished. It would be better, if my arms were each 3″ longer.
Attachments: Mower deck, snow blade and 3 point hitch.
Modifications: I put an exhaust pipe through the front hood. It is threaded and can be unscrewed for easy access to the engine compartment. All models have an exhaust pipe venting under the front right side of the tractor. When you are moving forward, you drive right into the exhausted gasses.
