The John Deere LA150 lawn mower was manufactured for only one year during 2007 by JD in their Horicon plant in Wisconsin. It is part of their ‘100’ series from 2007. The JD LA150 is quite a large tractor. It has been constructed from robotically welded, high strength, 12 gauge steel, which means that it’s highly durable and is pretty much guaranteed to last for a long time. The mower deck on this lawn mower has a large cutting width of 54 inches although due to the discharge chute at the side of the mower deck, it gives the lawnmower a total width of 1.73 m (68.5 inches). Without attachments, the length of the the lawnmower comes to 1.75 m (69 inches). The wheel base is 1.24 m (49 inches) which means that the lawnmower is very steady even on pretty steep inclines. The front wheels on the John Deere LA150 measure 16×6.5-8 (16 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter), while the rear wheels measure 22×9.5-12 (22 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter).

The JD LA150 gets it’s power from a large Briggs and Stratton gasoline (petrol) engine. This 2 cylinder V twin has a displacement of 0.7 liters and produces 26 hp. Cleaning the air intake is a paper and foam element air filter. To keep the engine fully lubricated, you need to make sure to keep the engine topped up to 1.9 liters of oil. The lawnmower is an automatic with cruise control thanks to it’s hydrostatic transmission. This makes operating it incredibly easy.

While obviously the John Deere LA150 is mostly used as a lawnmower, it is also capable of a whole host of other chores thanks to it’s CargO Mount attachment system. You can add utility carts, front blades and even John Deere snowblowers to it so that it’s truly a multi-tasker. If you are looking for something a little smaller and probably more durable, then you may be interested in the John Deere LA100 lawn mower.
