John Deere GX325

The John Deere GX325 lawnmower is a step up from the John Deere GX255 lawnmower, while it’s not quite as big as the likes of the John Deere GX335. The JD GX325 uses a Kawasaki, V twin cylinder FH321V gasoline engine that is air cooled. This engine gives out 18 hp in power output. It is fortunately started via battery which means no awkward and frustrating pulling on a recoil system to get it started. This power is then fed through a hydrostatic transmission that gives this John Deere lawn mower infinite speeds traveling forwards and infinite speeds for reversing also. You can control your speed through either the forwards or reversing pedal. The transmission requires a fair amount of transmission fluid to keep operating smoothly (4.7 liters to be precise).

The John Deere GX325 is fairly flexible with regard to the types of mower deck that if can use for cutting grass. Unlike some lawnmowers, the JD GX325 can operate with a 38 inch, 42 inch, 48 inch or 54 inch mower deck attached. However operators should note that if they do use a larger mower deck, it will struggle more to operate effectively if the grass you are cutting is particularly long or very wet. If this is the case, then you’ll be better off using a smaller mower deck.

The John Deere GX325 is a lot heavier than some of the smaller JD lawnmower models, weighing in at 296 kg (654 lbs). As such the wheels are fairly wide to help distribute this weight. The rear wheels measure 23×10.5-12 (23 inch diameter, 10.5 width, 12 inch rim diameter) while the front tires measure 16×6.5-8 (16 inch diameter, 6.5 width, 8 inch rim diameter). You also have the option of certain attachments with the JD GX325. You can add on a snow blower, snow blade, front blade, front thatcher as well as numerous other useful implements.
