The John Deere 8700 PrecisionCut fairway lawnmower has a more powerful engine than both the John Deere 7700 PrecisionCut and the John Deere 8000 E-Cut Hybrid fairway lawnmowers. This is a liquid cooled Yanmar engine that is fueled with diesel. This engine has a maximum power output of 43.1 hp. The engine is a 3 cylinder and has a total displacement of 1.496 liters. Dirt and dust is cleaned from the air intake through a dual stage, dry element air filter. The fuel tank on the JD 8700 can hold up to 66.6 liters (18 US gallons) of diesel. The wheels are powered through a traction drive system that uses hydrostatic pump to wheel motors with the option of an AWD traction system. The hydraulics system holds up to 45.4 liters (12 US gallons) of hydraulic fluid.

Attached to the front of the John Deere 8700 PrecisionCut fairway lawn mower are 5 mowing units. They give the JD 8700 a total cutting width of 100 inches, even though each unit has a width of 22 inches. Housed inside each mowing unit is a cutting reel. The reel has a diameter of 7 inches, but there is a choice of how many blades that are attached to each one (either 5, 8 or 10 blades). Depending on the number of blades that are attached to the reel, the cutting height of the mowing units can be as low as 6.4 mm (0.25 inches) above the ground and as high as 76.2 mm (3 inches) above the ground.

The total weight of the John Deere 8700 PrecisionCut comes to 1127 kg (2485 lbs) (operating weight, when 8 bladed reels are used). The seat on the JD 8700 has a deluxe suspension to cushion your ride and prevent you from getting tired (or a sore back) during long operating times. If you have used the 8700 Precision Cut fairway lawnmower, then make sure to leave a review below letting others know your experience.
