The John Deere 76F orchard and vineyard tractor is the smallest orchard/vineyard tractor in JD’s current lineup. Larger ones include the John Deere 85F and the John Deere 100F tractors, while if you are looking for something a good deal smaller, you may find the John Deere 20A to be very useful. The JD 76F is powered by a Detroit Diesel engine which is manufactured by VM. This turbocharged diesel engine is a 4 cylinder with a total volume of 2.7 liters. The engine is liquid cooled and produces 76 hp. The fuel tank on this tractor can hold a maximum of 50 liters (13 US gallons) of diesel.

The John Deere 76F uses one of 2 different SyncShuttle transmissions to transfer power from the engine to the wheels. The first option gives the operator 8 speeds going forward and 8 for reversing also. The second option gives the JD 76F 16 speeds (8 creeper, 8 fast) going forward and 8 in reverse. It uses a dry clutch for changing gears. The open center hydraulics on this tractor have a maximum operating pressure of 195 bar (2828 psi). The power steering has a maximum operating pressure of 135 bar (1958 psi).

The rear 3 point hitch on the John Deere 76F has a maximum safe lifting capacity of 2300 kg (5300 lbs). One of the great things about the JD 76F is that it has a fantastic minimum turning radius of just 2.9 m when brakes are used. The tractor also has a fairly low center of gravity which means that it is very stable, even on inclined hills. The wheelbase of the machine comes to 1.85 m (73 inches). The shipping weight of the tractor with an open operator’s station comes to 1900 kg (4189 lbs). If you own an orchard or vineyard and need a tractor that has a low profile, a differential lock and a low center of gravity, then this tractor will hopefully suit your needs.
