There are actually 2 well know John Deere 755 models. The first and most well known, which this article will mostly focus on is the compact farm tractor produced by JD from 1986 to 1998. However there is another JD 755 model that many people know little about. That is the John Deere 755D crawler loader which you are more likely to see in quarries and earth moving operations. It has a turbocharged, air cooled, 6 cylinder John Deere 6068H engine pumping out 181 hp which enables it to easily power it’s large , 2.4 cubic meter bucket.

Meanwhile, most people are far more familiar with the compact farm and garden 755 tractor. This is obviously powered by a much smaller engine, a Yanmar, 3 cylinder diesel, giving 20 hp which has a displacement of only 0.9 liters. This power then transfers into a hydrostatic transmission requiring 17 liters (4.5 US gallons) of hydraulic fluid which has an infinite number of forward and reverse gears. The great thing about the John Deere 755 is that it when buying it, you were given a choice of either 4×4 MFWD Four Wheel Drive (4WD) or 4×2 Two Wheel Drive (2wD), so that depending on the conditions that you were operating it in, you could choose the appropriate model for your needs.

It’s category 1, 3 point hitch has a rear lift of 356 kg (785 lbs), meaning that it was capable of taking many different attachments. So this was not just a compact farm tractor, but also a useful one for commercial gardeners or landscapers too! The JD 755 could also take a mower deck attachment, which is pretty standard among John Deere tractors of this size. It weighed in at 793 kg (1750 lbs), is 2.62 m (103 inches) long and is 1.17 m (46 inches) wide and it’s widest point. This tractor is very popular and although very old nowadays, it is still quite valuable due to the fact that it is simply so versatile.
