The John Deere 730 is known as the sequel to the John Deere 720. However, this tractor had loads of new aspects to offer it’s customers in terms of cosmetic upgrades. The John Deere 730 would go down in the history books for holding the record for the most fuel efficient tractor for as long as 27 years.

The production of this model started in the year 1958 and went up till 1961 before it was discontinued. The production was simultaneously carried out in Mexico, Argentina and United States of America.

The engine was designed and built by John Deere as opposed to using an outside company. The John Deere 730 has a 53 HP engine. The PTO claimed figure is 59 HP. The fuel capacity of this model is 92.7 liters. However, if you are using LP gas the fuel storage capacity goes up till 124.9 liters. The 2 cylinder engine mainly runs on gasoline. The average fuel consumption is around 17.1 liters per hour and it has a liquid cooling system. The coolant storage capacity is 27.4 liters.

The gear system of the JD 730 is unsynchronized. The tractor has got 6 gears which work in the front direction along with having one single reverse gear.

The shipping weight of the tractor is 6790 lbs. However, the operating weight is 7445 lbs. The ballasted weight of the John Deere 730 is 9241 lbs. The wheelbase measures 93.7 inches wide. The length and width of this model is 135.25 inches and 86.625 inches respectively. The rear tread measures in the range of 60-88 inches while the front tread measures at 48-80 inches.
