John Deere 6100D

The John Deere 6100D utility tractor is the smallest in the 6D series from JD. It is constructed in the JD plant in Saltillo in Mexico. Like many JD utility tractors, the JD 6100D is equipped with a JD designed and built PowerTech 4045T engine. This is a turbo charged 4 cylinder engine. It’s diesel powered and has a displacement of 4.5 liters. The engine fires at a compression ratio of 17:1. The engine is prevented from overheating through a liquid cooling system. The engine produces 100hp. This engine then transfers power to the wheels through either a PowrReverser gearbox that gives it 9 forward and reversing gears or a Top Shaft Synchronized gear box that gives it 9 forward speeds and 3 for reversing.

The John Deere 6100D can be purchased with a open operator station and ROPS or with a cab. There is also the option of either a 2WD or 4WD model. As a result, it’s total weight varies depending on what configuration you choose. The minimum turning radius of the JD 6100D is 2.1 m for the 2WD model, while the 4WD model has a minimum turning radius of 4.5 m. It’s wheelbase is the same for both models, coming in at 2.34 m (92.5 inches).

Similar models to the John Deere 6100D include the John Deere 6115D utility tractor. The maximum lifting capacity of the category 2, 3 point hitch is 3084 kg (6800 lbs). The fuel tank on this model is capable of holding up to 157.8 liters (41.7 US gallons) of diesel. This tractor is often found on medium sized farms that have a number of different jobs that need to be looked after (eg pulling, crops, feeding animals, etc) due to the large range of implements that can be attached to it.

400 hours and hydraulics running hot. you have to shut down the tractor using a cutter or baler. A real piece of shit.

We bought a 6100D with only 160 hrs on it! Every time we go to use it there is something wrong with it! The tractor wouldnt stay in gear! Had to split the tractor in half , it was in the shop for 3 wks, the dealer had a hard time figuring out what was wrong! Now its back in the shop beacause the rock shaft or 3 point hitch will not raise a bail of hay off the ground! The dealer is having a hard time trying to fix it!!
