Like so many John Deere tractors these days, the John Deere 6030 is the model number for both a new and old JD tractor. Let’s start with the slightly older version first…The first JD 6030 first entered production in 1972 with just over 4000 being produced before it’s manufacture ceased in 1977. It had a choice of engines: a diesel, turbocharged, intercooled, 8.7 liter, 6 cylinder engine or a natural aspiration, diesel, 8.7 liter, 6 cylinder engine. The turbo charged engine proved to be far more popular than the natural aspirated one and outsold it almost 100:1! The highest horsepower produced by either engine is 176 hp.

It has a large fuel capacity fuel tank 276.3 liter (73 US gallon) and a category 3, 3 point hitch and rear lift capacity of 2680 kg (5910 lbs). It weighs 8246 kg (18180 lbs) and carried that on a wheelbase of 2.64 m (104 inches). It was and still is a very strong workhorse of a tractor capable of very big loads

The much newer John Deere 6030 refers to a new series of tractors, the 6130, 6230, 6330, 6430, 6530, 6630, 6830 and 6930 tractors. Tractors from the 6030 series are actually quite similar in purpose to the older version of the JD 6030 manufactured in the ’70’s, they are also workhorses, designed for pulling large loads. In fact both the old and new versions are often seen with a set of twin wheels. The new series of 6030’s are powered by PowerTech Plus engines that are capable of providing up to an extra 25 extra hp when needed in tough environments. The 4 cylinder PowerTech engine provides up to 145 hp with Intelligent Power Management while the larger 6 cylinder PowerTech engine provides up to 180 hp and is obviously found in the bigger models. You are also offered the choice of AutoPowr transmission which offers infinite speed selection or the PowrQuad or AutoQuad Plus which allows you optimize for either in field or on road efficiency.

Whether you choose the new or old John Deere 6030, you are guaranteed the strong quality that has long been associated with John Deere tractors.
