John Deere 5105M

The John Deere 5105M is the largest utility tractor in the 5000 series from John Deere. All assembly of the tractor takes place in the JD plant located in Augusta, Georgia. Here they also produce a variant of the JD 5105M. This is the John Deere 5105ML which has a lower profile. To control the 5105M you have hydrostatic power steering as well as wet disc brakes to prevent you from crashing. The cab of this tractor features quality A/C which allows you to operate for long periods in extreme conditions without getting too hot/cold.

The John Deere 5105M gets all of it’s power from a PowerTech E4045 engine that has been designed and built in house by JD. This 4 cylinder, turbo charged engine has a displacement of 4.5 liters and is powered by diesel. The liquid cooling system for the engine can hold up to 11.4 liters of water. The pressurized lubrication system holds up to 8.3 liters of oil. Starting the engine is simple with a 12 volt battery that produces 925 cold cranking amps. This battery is then recharged through either a 70 amp or 90 amp alternator. Like many of the 5000M models, there is a choice of transmissions, a SyncReverser, a PowrReverser, a SyncShuttle Plus or a PowrReverser Plus are the options for the gearbox.

Models that are similar, but less powerful than the John Deere 5105M include the John Deere 5095M, John Deere 5085M and the John Deere 5101E tractors. The wheelbase on the JD 5105M comes in at 2.17 m (85.5 inches) while it’s weight varies depending on whether you choose it with a open operator station (but with a ROPS) or with a cab.
